An opening presentation by Steve Coe at the January 18th 2019 “People’s Planning Forum." The gathering brought together 90 mental health peers and advocates to reimagine a crisis response system that would safely and humanely connect people to care without force or police involvement.

Steve Coe and Randi Silverman were invited by NBC New York to discuss CA's 11th NYC Mental Health Film Festival and it's premier feature "No Letting Go," which Randi wrote and produced.

National Advocate Honoree - 2016

Steve Coe was instrumental in organizing an advocacy campaign that pushed New York City to begin Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training of police officers and to adopt other strategies, such as community diversion centers where the NYPD can bring people experiencing psychiatric distress, keeping them out of jails and hospitals.

Peer Employment

A brief description of the Howe the Harp peer training program created by Community Access to empower people who had gone through the mental health system to become highly trained peer specialists. Launched in 1995, the 500-hour training has helped thousands of people secure meaningful employment and transform service models through the use of peer staff.
